Jimi Tatu

Tatu has been teaching Japanese Rope Bondage, also known as Kinbaku or Nawa Shibari, as a spiritual component to D/s for many years and is on a very short list of well-respected rope masters in the US. He has taught at national and regional events such as Shibaricon, Black Rose, LIL (Living In Leather), SELF (SouthEast Leather Fest), BMSL (Beat Me in Saint Louis), Orlando Bash, Kinky Kollege, and Sinsations in Leather as well for numerous regional support groups. He was the keynote speaker for Shibaricon 2005.

Tatu is the owner/founder of the Adult Rope Art Yahoo Discussion Group with some 14,000 participants. He teaches a monthly gathering of rope enthusiasts in south Florida known as SILK and is the creator of the Ds-Arts and Japanese Rope Art informational websites. While a college undergraduate, Tatu developed a love of Japanese history and culture that extended to his rope work. His interests evolved from the "damsel in distress" western-style approach to erotic bondage, particularly the Japanese styled bondage and rope art that he’s still so passionate about today.

Master Tatu has a bachelor’s degree in social studies education (an interesting blend of history, psychology, and sociology), a master’s degree in divinity, and additional postgraduate study. He enjoys all things Japanese and as such, enjoys the tranquility that this lifestyle has to offer. Foo more information about Tatu, please visit his websites (above) or his
